Where’s Oprah Winfrey? MIA with Barack Obama lately, is the Oprah Winfrey Show Reputation Damaged?

Since Oprah Winfrey was last heard campaigning for Barack Obama in California during Super Tuesday February 5th 2008 and Hillary Clinton won that state hands down. Oprah Winfrey never went back stumping for Barack Obama ever since.
Around May 2007 Oprah Winfrey made public that she would endorse and go head over heels for the Barack Obama 2008 presidential bandwagon run. She would also endorse him, and she would fundraise millions of dollars for him at the same time.
Oprah Winfrey had never been political before and it was kind of strange seeing the billionaire, queen of afternoon TV show stumping for any political candidate.
It was a risky affair for her to do it and quite evidently she is now paying the high price for this blunder.
With the majority of her viewers who are white women the Hillary Clinton core group of supporters, a good many of them who helped Oprah Winfrey become a billionaire throughout the years resented it when a woman in Hillary Clinton who’s also running, and Oprah’s abandonment and doing a total 180 on women issues and causes, was the last straw that most of her white female fans could take.
Her shows have always been on themes of female and women empowerments in the world of male dominated societies. Large portions of her fans were left to wonder about Oprah’s agendas, intentions and hypocrisy choosing a man, male over women who were her core fans.
It’s a heavy price to pay for this blunder and I am sure that Oprah Winfrey has lost a lot of respect and fans over this fiasco. When you are a revered celebrity with a show, you NEVER get political, are one of the biggest carnal rules in TV survival. She should have come across as fair, unbiased and neutral but instead she went stumping for a male presidential candidate over a female who were the core of her fans.
Since the revelations about Obama’s racist pastor Jeremiah Wright came about. We discovered that Oprah Winfrey was briefly a member of the same Jeremiah’s Wright’s racist church, Trinity United Church of Christ. And now with Barack Obama’s growing unpopularity among white voters and Oprah Winfrey having been on the Barack Obama corner the manure is hitting the fan on Oprah.
Oprah Winfrey’s got a lot of questions to answer for. The biggest lingering question about Oprah Winfrey is why was she pawning to America a far leftist anti-middle class, anti-free enterprise, corporation candidate in the likes of Barack Obama. What are her real connections to Jeremiah Wright? A man that teaches black Americans that there is no American dream that white rich people got every thing.
How about you Oprah? You’re a billionaire and so is Tiger Woods. So are many other successful African Americans around like Bob Johnson of BET and so forth? It doesn’t make any sense that you would support a man that doesn’t believe in your having the American dream and such wealth. It might be just out of sheer ignorance we don’t know?
Can Oprah survive a political backlash because of it? Time will tell but things aren’t well at the Oprah Winfrey Show right now.
It definitely was a huge blunder on Oprah’s part and she’ll be paying for it years to come in lower ratings and lost money. Was it really worth it financially for Oprah? I don’t think so. You NEVER get political when you’re an influential TV show host especially when you go against the core of your viewers and fans principles!

AMERICA’S favourite television presenter is paying a painful price for her intervention in the US presidential campaign last month. Oprah Winfrey has been dubbed a “traitor” by some of her female fans for supporting Barack Obama instead of Hillary Clinton.
Winfrey’s website, Oprah.com, has been flooded with a barrage of abuse since the queen of daytime chat shows joined Obama on a tour of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina in mid-December.
Her intervention was widely credited with broadening Obama’s national appeal - especially among women - and with helping him to an upset victory over Clinton in the first vote of the election year in Iowa.

Yet a backlash by Clinton supporters appears to have prompted a rethink by Winfrey, the African-American media titan who is routinely described as the most influential woman on television.
She did not reappear in the final days before the New Hampshire primary - which Obama lost to Clinton - and has been absent from the most recent campaigning in South Carolina, which votes next weekend.
