Taking Back America: Texans Give Republicans John McCain, Texas Governor Rick Perry, President George Bush's Globalizations and Free Traders & Mexico's NAFTA Superhighway the Boot!
By Marc Chamot

UPDATED June 28, 2008- Texans Fooled over NAFTA Superhighway-what was thought to be over with the NAFTA Superhighway in Texas it looks like Texas Republican Governor Rick Perry, with president George Bush’s blessings and the TxDOT pulled a quick one over most Texans. They are going to pursue with the NAFTA Superhighway anyway.

They are going to use existing roads instead. As Ron Paul stated on his announcement it was more of a victory for landowners from massive land confiscations. But left open for NAFTA Superhighway being built on existing Texas highways.

But this time they are bringing a Spanish group that will construct and convert some existing highways larger and wider and will also require Texans to pay toll for the use these roads. And the coffers from these toll roads will go to Spain. With the current high cost of gas I seriously doubt that Texans will stand for toll paying on their highways and these Texans may be more fed up with these kinds of idiocy coming from their politicians.

Toll road team awarded Trans-Texas Corridor project

AUSTIN – State officials awarded a contract Thursday to a private toll road team that has promised to put the remaining pieces in place for Gov. Rick Perry's expansive vision for the Trans-Texas Corridor, a network of superhighways stretching 1,140 miles. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/texassouthwest/stories/DN-corridor_27tex.ART.State.Edition1.4d5ea29.html

"If the Republican Party wants to survive in America today, they are going to have to think more for Americans and less for corporate greed and foreign imports that’s decimating the American ways of life."

The so secretive and political lie from Washington behind the Republican Party backed NAFTA superhighway planned through the state of Texas has been permanently defeated!

Texans rose to arms and rallied in droves to defeat their un-American Republican slime bag Governor Rick Perry who was as sold out as president George Bush was. Both were actively participants behind more dismantling of the American economy and jobs to fulfill corporate greed over American workers.

Just the other day I got an email from my good friend from Texas, Mr. Unloadingzone and he gave me the scoop.

One big loser that comes to mind is Wal-Mart because this superhighway was planned to come through Bentonville Arkansas from Texas and Bentonville is their main headquarters for foreign imported products that target all of their stores and Sam’s Club worldwide.

Late last year during Presidential candidate Ron Paul’s Republican debates, he talked about the NAFTA Superhighway and these idiotic Fred Thompson and John McCain dismissed him as delusional and they both ganged up on him. They both accused him that he was fabricating this stuff and he shouldn’t be believed.

Well folks? Can we believe John McCain a “globalization” list and an admitted “free trader” on his word? The man that vehemently denied the George Bush, Texas governor Rick Perry and the Republican backed NAFTA Superhighway plans ever existed and it was all a fabrication in Ron Paul’s mind when in reality it did exist?

Texans took it upon themselves to stop this travesty but unfortunately there’s still New Mexico, Arizona and California that have NAFTA Superhighway access to America from Mexico’s borders. Distance wise and economically advantageous to Americas’ heartland was Texas and that has been totally defeated!

It could cost billions of dollars more in other border states of entry that could make the secretive NAFTA Superhighways totally mute and none functioning in America.

We rose up and fought back through our blogs and emails, we made a big difference in America. We fought off the Republican George Bush, John McCain and Rick Perry globalizations and free traders that were bent on destroying Americans over corporate greed and favoring foreign nations for their cheap labor.

I hope that you Republicans get the message John McCain and governor Rick Perry and president George Bush, we’ve had enough of you and we’re now taking America back!

Story from my good buddy Mr. Unloadingzone at http://theunloadingzone.blogspot.com/2008/06/nafta-super-highway-is-dead.html

The NAFTA Super-Highway is DEAD ! ! !
Just last week, Rep. Ken Paxton reported on the Texas Sunset Commission's recommendations for the Texas Department of Transportation and the infamous TxDOT. Well, it appears that it didn't take much time for the Texas Transportation Commissioner to start backpedaling.Below, entitled "A Major Victory for Texas", is an article by Congressman Ron Paul announcing the death of the NAFTA Super-Highway as envisioned by Governor Perry and the TTC.... and the hated (by me) TxDOT.

There are some very important cautionary notes from Dr. Paul you should particularly pay attention to, but for now, lets just celebrate! And SPECIAL THANKS to Rep. Paxton and all those in the TX Legislature who created the Sunset Advisory Commission which caused this to come about. We obviously need a LOT of oversight in Austin and Kudos to the Texas Legislature for providing some! And now, Congressman (should be running for President)

Ron Paul's article:

A Major Victory for Texas
I am pleased to report that last week we received notice that the Texas Department of Transportation will recommend the I-69 Project be developed using existing highway facilities instead of the proposed massive new Trans Texas Corridor/NAFTA Superhighway.According to the Texas Transportation Commissioner, consideration is no longer being given to new corridors and other proposals for a new highway footprint for this project. A major looming threat to property rights and national sovereignty is removed with this encouraging announcement.Public outcry was cited as the main reason for this decision.

I was very impressed to learn that the TxDOT received nearly 28,000 public comments on this matter, and that some 12,000 Texans attended the 47 public hearings held earlier this year. They could not ignore this tsunami of strong public opinion against the proposed plans.I was especially proud of how informed my constituents became on the subject, and how eloquently and respectfully they spoke and conducted themselves, considering how upsetting the plans were for our communities in Texas.

This is a major victory for the people of Texas, and a reminder of what we can accomplish with civic involvement. The informed and active citizen truly is a force to be reckoned with, as we have seen with the defeat of this proposal. We must keep fighting the good fight, and remain ever diligent against the encroachments of big government. We must do this if we wish to maintain our traditional standard of living in this country.

As tempting as it may be to simply live our lives with no regard to government, apathy will inevitably be punished by ever more government intrusion. That is what this fight was all about. We can win if we stick together. However, now is not the time to rest on our laurels. The bittersweet aspect of this victory is that we had to fight at all.

We took time away from family and friends, doing other things, to attend these meetings, inform others, write letters, post signs and submit our complaints, and we should not have had to. Government should let us be, if we are peaceful citizens, harming no one.In a perfect world, government could be trusted to act in the best interests of the people without overwhelming pressure of this kind.

This is not a perfect world. Constant pressure is needed to keep government in check, and we succeeded this time. But this will not be the last time citizen effort and involvement will be required.

We still face many unreasonable encroachments of big government today, from confiscator, economy-strangling taxation to creeping disregard of the right of habeas corpus and other Constitutional rights, to thousands of nuisance bureaucratic regulations interfering with our every day lives. We have drifted far from what the founding fathers envisioned for this nation. Last week was just one victory towards getting back on the right path. We must continue to hold politicians’ feet to the Constitutional fire.

If I had to guess, they will probably try to implement the NAFTA Superhighway again sometime in the future. It is a never-ending battle, but it must be fought, and can be won. I am proud to stand with my constituents in this fight, and in the other fights we have ahead of us.

Escalating Gas Prices & Oil: Why are Presidential Candidate Barack Obama & Democrats so far Out of Touch with Hurting Americans;

Escalating Gas Prices & Oil: Why are Presidential Candidate Barack Obama & Democrats so far Out of Touch with Hurting Americans; "drill here, drill now & pay less" and Building more Refineries is it a Republican Coup for the Whitehouse?
By Marc Chamot

“If gas prices keep on rising within the next six months and the Democrats don’t come up with far better solutions other than their pro-environmentalists ideologies and their dependence on foreign oil they could be sunk in future elections.”

President George Bush’s speech was everything about curbing the high price of gas and creating more needed affordable oil supplies for Americans. Unfortunately for our president he came short from declaring an executive order to get the ball rolling. Instead he opted to throw the new American dilemma to the Democrat’s side of the ball court.

Republicans are now using the sad state of the oil economics in their favor while Democrats are taking the opposite position on that matter. We’re a growing economic and transportation is what makes America work. The Democrats mainly Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama calls for conservation and reducing gas consumptions and changing our daily lives around it while wanting us to eat the high costs of gas prices no matter how high they get.

The Republicans are taking the bull by its horns and demanding more drilling and building more refineries that haven’t been done for over thirty years since the President Jimmy Carter administration. The Republican’s “drill here, drill now & pay less” seems very enticing but America’s economic ills is more than oil and John McCain and Republicans are still not speaking our populist language in keeping American jobs in America.

The Democrats and Barack Obama are on the wrong side of this issue. According to new polls over seventy percent of Americans prefer us to drill for oil in America mainly off the coasts of California and Florida, as well as Texas and Alaska’s ANWR first, before we think about conserving oil and changing our daily lives around it if it can be helped.

Americans will decide whether having cheaper gas is a good reason to keep a Republican in power or improving our job market opportunities where Republicans failed and Democrats are promising.

Just recently CNN came out with a great investigations piece called “we were warned: Out of Gas”

The negative I have on this piece is that CNN refused to address American drilling on our soil and secondly there’s still a lot of oil available in the U.S. but refused to go after the environmentalists who are blocking drilling in America.

Against All Odds: Republican Presidential Nominee John McCain Has Insurmountable Odds to Become Our Next Commander in Chief:

Against All Odds: Republican Presidential Nominee John McCain Has Insurmountable Odds to Become Our Next Commander in Chief Because of Parties' Economic Failures:
By Marc Chamot

"Historically no recent sitting U.S. president from that party ever reclaimed the American presidency under these disastrous economic conditions, and to top it all arguably this is the worst since the great American depression of the 1930’s."

“I find it really ironic and hypocritical from some conservatives’ friends of mine.

They like to accuse Bush and the Republicans of spending tax moneys like drunken sailors but in reality they support the Iraq war, and fail to see that the Iraq war costs is what’s driving the higher tax rates and killing the American taxpayers. To make up for their weakness on the Iraq war the Republicans want to go after the fat and pork in social support for hurting Americans.”

“Our economic decline and high gas prices started back around 2003 right before George Bush’s second term and the people voted for his second term anyway, and they’re paying the price for it now. Gas prices have quadrupled under the George Bush’s presidency.”

It comes down to issues and John McCain is once again demonstrating and failing miserably in distinguishing himself apart from George Bush’s and the Republican failed domestic policies. Most Americans, mainly voters are seeing John McCain as the continuation of George Bush in many aspects of American politics.

As some liberals like to call him the new “McBush.” He still hasn’t demonstrated nor taken the populist mantle that may define his possible new administration apart from the status quo that it is now.

Americans in general and even Independents are taking another look at Barack Obama. Regardless of Obama’s ties to unsavory casts of characters in the likes of Jeremiah Wright, known terrorist Bill Ayers and the latest pastor gaffe with Michael Pfleger. Barack Obama has done an excellent job to separate himself far easily from these potential political career-ending casts of characters. Americans have no choice about it now. It’s either take a flowed Barack Obama or get more of the same George Bush policies from John McCain.

Most Americans today are in dire straits and Barack Obama is speaking their language while John McCain is not. As on my previous three postings I had posted before criticizing McCain’s total insistent on pushing failed domestic policies, ignorance and lack of knowledge in what is ailing our economy. This is not the time to be talking about more “Free Trade” and “Globalization” the hallmarks of the failed George Bush and Republican Party domestic policies for the last seven years.

The issues that are affecting Americans are beyond than just affordable healthcare and tax breaks for Americans. It’s the billions of infrastructure dollars we’re throwing away into this war in Iraq. It’s the lack of profit margins for small mom and pop businesses throughout the U.S. It’s the decimation of small American businesses being taken over by national chain stores like Wal-Mart, McDonalds, Blockbusters, KFC, Lowes, Ace Hard wares stores, Home Depot and many others that can afford strong lobby groups to further their profit margins in Washington over the declining American mom and pop businesses. It’s the decimating small businesses and employment opportunities and good paying industry jobs going abroad for most Americans have put us in a real pickle.

The solution to stop these mass exoduses and bleeding of American jobs going abroad is simple! Increase the trade tariffs high enough to force these industries to come back and employ Americans.

According to one survey I saw, gas prices have gone up, cost of living has gone up but the average American salaries and wages have increased very slightly or remained the same since the Bill Clinton years!

Most Americans want change and they are just not seeing it in John McCain.

Conservatisms are tough love. I find it really ironic and hypocritical from some conservatives’ friends of mine. They accuse Bush and the Republicans of spending tax moneys like drunken sailors but in reality they support the Iraq war, and fail to see that the Iraq war costs is what’s driving the higher tax rates and killing the American taxpayers. To make up for their weakness on the Iraq war the Republicans want to go after the fat and pork in social support for hurting Americans.

Another prime example of Republican anti-American worker support is the just recently failed Democrat bill to extend unemployment benefits to out of work Americans. The Republican’s argument was that they were going to be lazy and take the benefits instead of looking for work. But once again the Republicans failed to see the whole picture of the economic situation when there are no jobs available what then for the displaced worker?

Historically the Republicans have failed miserably on this economy. Our economic decline and high gas prices started back around 2003 right before George Bush’s second term and the people voted for his second term anyway, and they’re paying the price for it now. Gas prices have quadrupled under the George Bush’s presidency.

As Politico.com’s article below suggests historically no recent sitting U.S. president from that party ever reclaimed the American presidency under these disastrous economic conditions, and to top it all arguably this is the worst since the great American depression of the 1930’s.

Many historians see little chance for McCain
David Paul Kuhn

One week into the general election, the polls show a dead heat. But many presidential scholars doubt that John McCain stands much of a chance, if any.

Historians belonging to both parties offered a litany of historical comparisons that give little hope to the Republican. Several saw Barack Obama’s prospects as the most promising for a Democrat since Roosevelt trounced Hoover in 1932.

“This should be an overwhelming Democratic victory,” said Allan Lichtman, an American University presidential historian who ran in a Maryland Democratic senatorial primary in 2006. Lichtman, whose forecasting model has correctly predicted the last six presidential popular vote winners, predicts that this year, “Republicans face what have always been insurmountable historical odds.” His system gives McCain a score on par with Jimmy Carter’s in 1980.

“McCain shouldn’t win it,” said presidential historian Joan Hoff, a professor at Montana State University and former president of the Center for the Study of the Presidency. She compared McCain’s prospects to those of Hubert Humphrey, whose 1968 loss to Richard Nixon resulted in large part from the unpopularity of sitting Democratic president Lyndon Johnson.

“It is one of the worst political environments for the party in power since World War II,” added Alan Abramowitz, a professor of public opinion and the presidency at Emory University. His forecasting model — which factors in gross domestic product, whether a party has completed two terms in the White House and net presidential approval rating — gives McCain about the same odds as Adlai Stevenson in 1952 and Carter in 1980 — both of whom were handily defeated in elections that returned the presidency to the previously out-of-power party. “It would be a pretty stunning upset if McCain won,” Abramowitz said.

What’s more, Republicans have held the presidency for all but 12 years since the South became solidly Republican in the realignment of 1968 — which is among the longest runs with one party dominating in American history. “These things go in cycles,” said presidential historian Robert Dallek, a professor at the University of California at Los Angeles. “The public gets tired of one approach to politics. There is always a measure of optimism in this country, so they turn to the other party.”

That desire for change also tends to manifest itself at the end of a president’s second term. Only twice in the 20th century has a party won a third consecutive term in the White House, most recently in 1988, when George H.W. Bush replaced the term-limited Ronald Reagan, who was about twice as popular in the last year of his presidency as President George W. Bush is now.
But the biggest obstacle in McCain’s path may be running in the same party as the most unpopular president America has had since at least the advent of modern polling. Only Harry Truman and Nixon — both of whom were dogged by unpopular wars abroad and political scandals at home — have been nearly as unpopular in their last year in office, and both men’s parties lost the presidency in the following election.

Though the Democratic-controlled Congress is nearly as unpopular as the president, Lichtman says the Democrats’ 2006 midterm wins resemble the midterm congressional gains of the out-party in 1966 and 1974, which both preceded a retaking of the White House two years later.
One of the few bright spots historians noted is that the public generally does not view McCain as a traditional Republican. And, as Republicans frequently point out, McCain is not an incumbent.
“Open-seat elections are somewhat different, so the referendum aspect is somewhat muted,” said James Campbell, a professor at the State University of New York at Buffalo who specializes in campaigns and elections.

“McCain would be in much better shape if Bush’s approval rating were at 45 to 50 percent,” Campbell continued. “But the history is that in-party candidates are not penalized or rewarded to the same degree as incumbents.”

Campbell still casts McCain as the underdog. But he said McCain might have more appeal to moderates than Obama if the electorate decides McCain is “center right” while Obama is “far left.” Democrats have been repeatedly undone when their nominee was viewed as too liberal, and even as polls show a rise in the number of self-identified Democrats, there has been no corresponding increase in the number of self-identified liberals.

Campbell also notes that McCain may benefit from the Democratic divisions that were on display in the primary, as Republicans did in 1968, when Democratic divisions over the war in Vietnam dogged Humphrey and helped hand Nixon victory.

Still, many historians remain extremely skeptical about McCain’s prospects. “I can’t think of an upset where the underdog faced quite the odds that McCain faces in this election,” said Sidney Milkis, a professor of presidential politics at the University of Virginia. Even "Truman didn’t face as difficult a political context as McCain.” http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20080615/pl_politico/11090

America in Crisis: 1.3 Million American Children Left Homeless Per Year & 500,000 is Under Five Years Old!

America in Crisis: 1.3 Million American Children Left Homeless Per Year & 500,000 is Under Five Years Old! Just Another Tragic President George Bush and his Republican U.S. House/Senate Disastrous Legacy:
By Marc Chamot

The rise in family and children homelessness has increased considerably under President George Bush and his Republicans under their watch for the past seven years! ! It's really sad coming from a country that boasts itself the grandest ever in world history, it brags as an economic behemoth. It must be really embarrassing to us and shocking to the rest of the world when they see this going on in this country.

According to America’s Invisible Children, “There are over 1.3 million homeless children just in the United States. While many are struggling with their families just to survive, many of them are making an effort to get an education; often overcoming what seems like insurmountable odds.”

“Family Homelessness: A New Social Problem Except during the Great Depression, women and children have never been on our nation's streets in significant numbers. During the 1980's, cutbacks in benefits coupled with rapidly increasing rents and a dearth of low-income housing jeopardized the stability of all people with reduced or fixed incomes.

At the same time, the number of female-headed households dramatically increased. As a result, the nation's population of homeless families swelled from almost negligible numbers to nearly 40% of the overall homeless population today. The United States in unique among industrialized nations in that women and children comprise such a large percentage of our country's homeless.” Full Story: http://www.familyhomelessness.org/pdf/fact_outcasts.pdf

We’re living tragic times in the United States these days. What used to be the land of milk and honey has now become the land of the neglected and forgotten. This shouldn’t be happening in the America I know.

America have become no better than third world countries in mentalities based on me only society and the hell with every one else. And with the heartless consequences about the plight of the homeless mainly children that’s plaguing America is still being largely ignored.

According to national statistics because of our economic downturn American families are the fastest growing groups losing their homes and reaching the new ranks of homelessness in America.

Homeless children are an often-ignored problem that the media won’t touch and politicians want to ignore. Most families are going homeless due to massive job loses, loss of incomes and homes.

The America I knew was never that way except during our last depression of the 1930s.

It’s no wonder that Republicans in the U.S. senate and house of reps are going to face their stunning defeats in these upcoming elections. And it’s no wonder that Democrat Barack Obama is on the rise while Republican John McCain is on the decline!

The Republicans will get their just desserts for failing the American people so badly!

Unless John McCain being a Republican that was part of the problem rather than the solution can somehow reverse these disasters, he may still have a chance for the presidency. Because Democrats have had total control of the U.S. senate and house for the past year and a half and they haven’t done much to improve our quality of life either.

Quoted On America’s Invisible Children, Most people don't think of children, when they hear the word homeless, but the number of homeless children in the U.S. is shocking. Not in some third world country, but right here in America, there are 1.3 million homeless children. They are not confined to one area of the country; homeless children are struggling to survive in every state, in rural, urban and suburban areas.

The children become homeless for many reasons, whether it is abuse, neglect, death, divorce, home fire, foreclosures, or medical tragedies, the number is growing. Full Story: http://www.americasinvisiblechildren.com/

True Facts: according to the National Center on Family Homelessness:
America’s Homeless Children More Than One Million Homeless Children
• At least 1.35 million children are homeless during a year’s time.
• One any given day 800,000 people are homeless in the United States, including 200,000 children in homeless families.
• Families with children are among the fastest growing segment of the homeless population.
• Most children living with homeless parents are very young (42% are under the age of 6 years).
• Family homelessness is increasing. Requests for emergency shelter by families have increased every year since 1985, with an average increase of 20% in 2002.
(Burt, 2001; Burt, Aron, Douglas, et al., 1999; National Coalition for the Homeless, 2002; U.S. Conference of Mayors, 2002)
Homelessness Hurts Children
Homelessness Makes Children Sick
• Homeless children get sick twice as often as other children. They have:
- Twice as many ear infections.
- Four times as many asthma attacks.
- Five times more stomach problems.
- Six times as many speech problems.
- Twice as many hospitalizations.
• Homeless children go hungry twice as often as other children and 25% of homeless children report eating less after becoming homeless.
(National Center on Family Homelessness, 1999; Sandel, Sharfstein, and Shaw, 1999; Institute for Children and Poverty,
1999)
Homelessness Wounds Children
• Every day, homeless children are confronted with stressful, traumatic events. Within a single year:
- 97% of homeless children move, many up to three times.
- 22% are separated from their families to be put in foster care or to live with relatives.
- 25% have witnessed acts of violence within their family.
• Homeless children have many more mental health problems than other children.
- More than 20% of homeless preschoolers have emotional problems serious enough to require professional care.
- 47% of homeless school age children have problems such as anxiety, depression, or withdrawal, compared to 18% of other children.
(National Center on Family Homelessness, 1999; Institute for Children and Poverty, 1999)
Homeless Children Struggle In School
• Approximately 87% of school-age homeless children and youth are enrolled in school, although only about
77% attend school regularly. Some schools don’t allow homeless children to register without school and medical records. Others will not enroll children without a home address and there is often no transportation available to get children from shelters to school. The vast majority of homeless children and youth live in shelters, doubled up with friends or relatives, or in situations such as motels and campgrounds.
• Homeless children who are able to attend school have more problems learning in school. Compared with other children, homeless children are:
- Four times as likely to have developmental delays.
- Twice as likely to have learning disabilities.
- Twice as likely to repeat a grade, most often due to frequent absences and moves to new schools (28% of homeless children go to three or more schools in a single year).
(U.S. Department of Education, 2000; National Center on Family Homelessness, 1999)
Homeless Children Are Not Receiving The Services They Need
• Despite their multiple and complex needs, homeless children are not receiving the services they need. For example:
- Nearly 20% of homeless children lack a regular source of medical care and 15% rely solely on hospital emergency rooms.
- Less than 1/3 of homeless children who need help for their emotional problems are receiving it.
- Only 50-60% of homeless families are enrolled in Medicaid, although most are eligible.
- Only 71% of homeless families receive Food Stamps or WIC, although most are eligible.
- Only 37% of homeless children receive services that help them with enrollment, attendance, and success in school.
- Only 15% of homeless children are in preschool programs, less than half the rate of all children nationally.
(National Center on Family Homelessness, 1999; Institute for Children and Poverty, 1999; Burt, Aron, Douglas, et al., 1999;
National Coalition for the Homeless, 1999; U.S. Department of Education, 1999)
The Causes of Family Homelessness: Poverty Amidst Plenty
Housing is Not Affordable for Many Low-Income Families
• The U.S. economy has caused rents to soar, putting housing out of reach for the poorest Americans.
- Nearly 28 million households- one in four- reported spending more than 30% of their income on housing.
-Renter’s households in forty of the fifty states face a Housing Wage (the wage a full time worker must earn to afford fair market rent) of more than twice the prevailing minimum wage. In these states, a household is unable to afford a two bedroom home at Fair Market Rent even with two minimum wage earners working 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year.
• The supply of affordable housing is declining while the demand remains high.
- 66% of Metropolitan Statistical Areas have Housing Wages of at least twice the prevailing minimum wage.
- The number of rental units affordable to families with extremely low incomes declined by over 370,000 units between 1991 and 1997.
- The average waiting period for a public housing unit rose from 10 to 11 months between 1996 and 1998.
(National Low Income Housing Coalition 2001; Bipartisan Millennial Housing Commission, 2002; National Low Income
Housing Coalition, 2003; Daskal, 1998; U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, 2000; U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, 1999)
Extreme Poverty Among Families and Children Continues to Grow
• 17% of children fewer than 18 years were living below the poverty level. 10% of all families and 18% of families with a female householder and no husband present had incomes below the poverty level. Moreover, there has been an increase in the number of children living in extreme poverty (below one-half the poverty line).
• The number of families living in poverty went up by more than 300,000 in 2002 to 7 million from 6.1 million
in 2001. The number of children in poverty rose by more than 600,000 during the same period to 12.2 million.
• From the late 1970s to the late 1990s, the average income of the lowest-income families fell by over 6% after adjustment for inflation.
(U.S. Census Bureau, 1999; U.S. Census Bureau, 2002; Children’s Defense Fund, 1999; Bernstein, McNichol, Mishel, and Zahradnik, 2000)
Other Key Factors Contributing to Family Homelessness
• The number of people without health care insurance rose by 1.4 million to 41.2 million, putting them at extreme risk of homelessness. An injury or serious illness can quickly wipe out a family's income causing them to lose their housing and become homeless.
• Many mothers and children become homeless when they are forced to flee their homes to escape domestic
Violence.
- 18% of homeless parents who had previously lived in their own apartments reported they left their residence because of domestic violence.
- 32% of homeless mothers report that their current or most recent partner was abusive.

Economics 101: Globalization and Free Trade with Third World Nations Don’t Work in America’s Favor & why are John McCain and Republicans Wrong?

Economics 101: Globalization and Free Trade with Third World Nations Don’t Work in America’s Favor & why are John McCain and Republicans on the Wrong Side of this Issue?
By Marc Chamot

"To help cure our American job woes and our economy it’s going to take increasing our import tariffs and cutting back on some trade just totally the opposite of what President George Bush, the Republicans, some Democrats and John McCain believe in."

There’s really nothing wrong about consumers buying cheaper foreign imports to save money but when it comes to loses in American industry and jobs it can be revolutionary serious indeed.

Without jobs and sustainable incomes Americans have no money to buy American made products except for cheaper imports. We lose and these foreign countries win.

“Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama has been preaching numerous of times in his speeches that he will stop jobs going overseas. That’s resonating well among voters mainly Democrats and Independents.”

Take Wal-Mart for example. When Sam Walton started Wal-Mart in 1962, he envisioned his stores to sell nothing but American made products. They used to have signs promoting their stores as such. Somehow throughout the years they abandoned their buy only American concept and have become the market place for foreign imports.

American politicians used to protect American industries like a sacred cow. Tariffs on imports were usually higher. It used to be far more expensive to buy foreign made imports and cheaper to buy American made products.

During those times America grew and incomes also grew.

This is all gone now; it’s been thrown out the window due to the new age in political thinking and the total reversal from this strategy has hurt American industries and mainly jobs. That’s what we’re now seeing in America the extent of this damage affecting our whole economy including higher gas prices that people can’t afford to buy.

Through globalization we tried to become the poorer nations economy while ignoring ours.

So American industries took their jobs overseas so that they can take advantage of these lucrative U.S. government foreign trade deals pushed mainly by Republicans and to be more "globally" competitive with foreign cheap labor.

If any Washington DC politicians had the real intelligence to know why economically free trade don’t work with poorer nations it’s really simple. It’s part of international economics 101 and simple math that any idiot studies in college.

Free trade always favors poorer nations that have far lower wages and economic standings than ours. They produce far cheaper products than what we can. We have a much larger percentage of population that can afford their products while at the same time our American companies and products have a limited market in that poorer nation.

When I lived in Peru for about a year back around 1998. Through Peruvian government estimated statistics that only about 30% or less of the Peruvian population could afford American made products.

The problems were two fold as to why. This is the key issue that our American government still chooses to ignore and even enforce flawed trade deals. Even though we’ve dropped our tariffs on foreign goods to our country while many of these countries still have not dropped their high tariffs on our goods going to theirs.

Secondly, because of economic deprivations in poorer nations less people buy our American made products while larger groups in America buy theirs.

As you can well see the disadvantages for American industries there and the math just don’t add up in theirs and our favor.

Mathematically we’re doomed with these kinds of trade deals. They just don’t add up favoring the United States whatsoever and Americans are finally waking up to these travesties made by inept politicians.

Because Americans are hurting and they will hurt even more unless drastic government changes are made in keeping jobs in America.

And now we got a Republican presidential nominee John McCain talking about globalization and free trade this is the ignorance he’s really talking about.

This is President George Bush’s economic and trade strategies and also the Republican failed trade agendas he’s talking about.

The Republicans in power under George Bush created this chaotic economic trade mess.

And unfortunately for John McCain, he is the pallbearer of these failed Republican economic strategies.

Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama has been preaching numerous of times in his speeches that he will stop jobs going overseas. That’s resonating well among voters mainly Democrats and Independents. On this issue alone Barack Obama can destroy presidential nominee John McCain as being completely out of touch with the people.

Unless John McCain changes his economic tune from George Bush’s and from the mainstream Republicans now, he’s doomed from being elected president of the United States this November.
To help cure our American job woes and our economy it’s going to take increasing our import tariffs and cutting back on some trade just totally the opposite of what President George Bush, the Republicans, some Democrats and John McCain believe in.

Globalization & Free-Trade Talk May Doom Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain: is McCain failing on his Populist Message Badly?

Globalization & Free-Trade Talk May Doom Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain: is McCain failing on his Populist Message Badly? U.S. Presidency Voter Climate Could Favor Democratic Nominee Barack Obama; No Matter How Flawed Barack Obama is:
By Marc Chamot

John McCain is really losing it folks. Mainly he’s losing his populist message to the voters; he’s still stuck on that “failing” typical Washington political agenda and mentality in “globalization”, free trade favoring foreigners than our own, sending more jobs overseas, and supporting NAFTA.

In his speech the other night I watched in amazement to his total ignorance in American economic issues. He brought up these issues to be the future of his presidential administration.

John McCain has totally no clue about the plight of today’s economically hurting Americans and the affect of massive job loses and lowering of wages throughout the United States.

Lack of manufacturing jobs sent to China and Mexico through years of globalization that have failed miserably for most Americans. John McCain still pushes for these decades of failed Washington globalization agendas that have practically paralyzed America.

While American cities and states are becoming economically depressed there’s one presidential candidate talking about solutions like in Barack Obama when John McCain is on the same course of the hapless George Bush failed economic strategies under his administration that McCain still wants to push.

As one of my Net friends Arnie Sherr posted on my Zimbio.com blog, he hits the hammer right on the proverbial nail!

“Many once loyal repubs will vote for the extraction because they believe the pain they are living with will not only get worse over the 4 to 8, but seeing the surgeon, as painful as the tooth-pull may be is “after the gum heals the pain is no longer.” Remember, the country is basically 50/50. Given that Bush's approval rating is 28%, many repubs are fed-up with his failed policies and since McCain, ill-advised as it is, is aligning himself with the Bush-isms of economic pain and the Bush-isms of war policy the 22%” Full Story: http://www.zimbio.com/Current+News+Events+by+Marc+Chamot+-NEW/articles/298/Don+t+Kill+American+Politicians+Only+Kill

John McCain’s war policies may still hurt him but could survive but his failed economic and still wanting to push George Bush’s economic agendas will destroy him in this presidential elections no matter how damaged and flawed Barack Obama is.

Top of the news from Fox News: Racist Catholic Pastor Michael Pfleger Suspended possibly Resigns from Catholic Church in Jeremiah Wright’s former church over Clinton racist flap:
Pfleger suspended from St. Sabina duties
June 3, 2008

By Kara Spak, Sun-Times News Group

The firebrand pastor of St. Sabina parish was effectively removed from his duties there Tuesday, according to a statement released by the Archdiocese of Chicago.

In the statement, Cardinal Francis George says he asked the Rev. Michael Pfleger, 59, to "take leave for a couple of weeks from his pastoral duties." The statement said Pfleger "does not believe this to be the right step at this time." "While respecting his disagreement, I have nevertheless asked him to use this opportunity to reflect on his recent statements and actions in the light of the Church's regulations for all Catholic priests," George said.

The recent statements in question were video clips broadcast on You Tube where Pfleger mocked Hillary Clinton for crying on the campaign trail. He suggested her tears were due to "white entitlement" leading Clinton to believe the Democratic nomination should go to her, not Barack Obama.

Well folks this is it. It looks like Barack Obama has clenched the Democratic presidential nomination. Rumors are flying around all over the place that Hillary Rodham Clinton may concede the race and is asking for the number two spot.

Oh boy! What a big let down for her supporters, it could be the worst mistake for Democrats to date. A Barack Obama Democratic presidential campaign marred with racism and sexism has embittered many Democrat voters at large.

Hillary Clinton conceding and taking the number two spot on the ticket will be a real backstab for her hardcore supporters and the voters aren’t going to buy it.

It’s without a doubt that Barack Obama’s campaign is very damaged by his racist connections to Trinity United Church of Christ and his relationship with hate mongers like Jeremiah Wright and recent Michael Pfleger. And Hillary Rodham Clinton thinks that she can become the savior for the Democratic Party by uniting herself with Barack Obama but the wounds for the Democratic Party are pretty near fatal.

But it’s too late for that from Hillary Clinton; she promised that she would take her fight to convention if it were necessary. And once again she’s proving what she is good at, is lying to voters and mainly her supporters.

Already the buzz around the Net is that regardless Obama-Clinton tickets, it will further divide the Democrats mainly former Hillary Clinton white women and under no circumstance will vote for Barack Obama. Rather than uniting them it will further catapult the angry voters towards John McCain.

The damage towards race and gender relations has been done in this Democratic nomination race and the voters are not in a forgiving mood like sell-out politicians who readily are.

The voters are sick and tired of being fooled around with and they’ve just had about enough!
I still believe that voters will rid the U.S. senate and House of Republicans, but McCain might be the balance that voters want to keep around. America learned from George Bush what happens when one party has total control of government and it was a total disaster.

The craps just hitting the fan folks! Be ready for more developments soon!
