Calm before the Storm? 700,000 Americans Will Exhaust their Unemployment Benefits Soon & More to Come, a Crime Wave in Our Midst?By Marc Chamot
“When Barack Obama was running for president, I had warned on my blogs that it wouldn’t be wise to have a both a Democrat president with a Democrat Party controlled congress. After what we saw with former President Bush and the Republicans, I saw that we needed balance in our politics, it protects us from run-away agenda driven politics that both parties always push for.
But unfortunately, the voters didn’t give a damn, and decided to give the Democrats full control of the entire nation’s politics, and I do believe that we’re going to live to regret it.”
“If you think that the current killings over job loses is big? Just WAIT and see what happens when unemployment benefits run out.”
Contrary to popular beliefs, the stock market is not a real indicator to the health of the American economy. Most blue collar Joe’s of America couldn’t give a damn about the stock market or Wall Street these days.
It is jobs that they are seeing slowly disappearing and it’s even projected to get a little worse. Most Americans know of someone, in their family or friends that have been adversely affected by loss of jobs, somewhere and around this country.
President Obama’s plan of taxing Americans into oblivion just isn’t the solution to get this stale economic situation moving forward again, it is not working. The more you tax big business the more businesses LAY-OFF people squarely across the board. This is the basic principles of economics. When businesses are hit hard with taxes, like what’s happening in California, the state that is the most economically damaged, people are being put out of work.
Politicians in California are fast discovering that you cannot tax your citizenry to death to get out of expensive, and out of control social programs, especially without new growth revenues coming in. Liberals in California are doubling auto registrations, traffic citations, parking meters fees, college tuitions and so forth. They are just bluntly, and plainly sucking their Californian citizens and taxpayers totally dry.
There are REASONS as to why Wall Street is recovering at this moment. The taxpayer financed stimulus and bailouts for Wall Street players is one, and the other reason? Without question, are the massive lay-offs, which is helping some of these corporate entities’ to stay alive. It’s still an attractive game when people who have money to keep investing in the market, and who are encouraged by Wall Street’s new found fortunes, mainly at the expense of LAID-OFF Americans.
But we’ve got a serious problem in our hands looming. We’ve got bigger problems to worry about now. What will happen when jobless aid runs out? It’s coming soon. In the coming weeks and months hundreds and thousands of Americans will exhaust their unemployment benefits. Most will be left with NON-SUSTAINABLE income to survive. Will there be new crime waves like those common in third world countries? Where they have staggering amounts of unemployed poor committing crimes, such as petty thieveries, burglaries, pickpocket crimes, strong armed robberies and a whole lot more?
Just at the time when it was getting harder to find a job. Congress had extended unemployment aid twice last year. It allowed people to draw up to 59 weeks of unemployment benefits. Congress gambled on a quick turnaround for the economy, but lost. All of the people who were laid off early to the middle part of last year will be left out in the cold soon. Wayne Vroman, an economist at the Urban Institute, estimates that up to 700,000 Americans will exhaust their benefits by June of this year.
Job losses and prospects in finding work are getting grim and grimmer as the days go by. Lay-offs have no end in sight, it is projected that there may be a job turnaround by 2010. It may be too late for Democrats, who had been in control of the Congress and Senate since 2006; it was under their watch that these cataclysmic economic disasters happened.
Sure, Blame Bush and the Republicans, we’re now into three years since the Democrat’s revolution, when they took back the U.S. Senate and congress from the Republicans, but nothing has improved since then, it has actually gotten worse.
Right now, the financial security blanket is in place, and there are little crimes to reflect over this economic situation, except for nationwide killing sprees, but once that security blanket is all removed, all hell may break loose and it may be a whole new ball game.
"This is what happens in a society that is plagued with high unemployment, crime and broken social structures. We’re beginning to see some of those in major cities across America. Iron roll up doors, burglar bars, rolling metal gates shuttering businesses. You go along the poorer neighborhoods after seven PM, like San Francisco’s Mission district, store after stores have these graffiti laden roll-up doors."
"What has been happening in Peru as well as most third world countries like Mexico, and countries in Latin America, Africa and Asia, most people’s houses are surrounded by walls. Crime is so rampant that these citizens totally live secluded lives from the outside world."U.S. employers shed 663,000 jobs in March, and the jobless rate stands at its highest in a quarter century. Since December 2007 5.1 million jobs have disappeared. There will be more home losses to contend within the near future. People are out of work longer than ever before, even when people do find work, it will never make up for their losses of incomes, and or to what they’ve lost in the past.
As I said before, welfare, and subsidizing incomes through unemployment isn’t nearly enough to live on and it isn’t the same as having a real job. That money has to come from somewhere. As the tax base is shrinking with the new mass of unemployed, the burdens for the money is left on the currently employed. This formula definitely is not the fix, creating new jobs, bringing back lost industries that have escaped this nation is the ONLY solution.
With this president and Democrats, there is all that talk about pushing the “restart button” in dealing with foreign politics, but sadly to say, it will have to take that same philosophy on jobs, to save the American worker.
This president and Democratic controlled Congress and Senate are failing us miserably, if things don’t get any better, there will be a backlash galore against the Democrats starting this 2010, during the upcoming mid term elections.
The Democrats are squandering away such an opportune time to show this nation that they can do better than their former counterparts and it isn’t working. Not for now anyway.

This article makes me think of this quote, "Seasonal unemployment was found to be a state which does not have much employment, for example, rural areas."
