New Polls show VOTERS Weren’t Too Impressed by Lame Duck Congressional Efforts & Ignoring the Wills of Majority of Voters, the 70%, Seventy Percenters, Will turn Washington Into Chaos, and Bring More Political Dooms for Politicians in Both Parties:
By Marc Chamot Updated December 31st, 2010

Not most successful “lame duck” congress at all; contrary to some beliefs, this wasn’t one of the most productive lame duck congresses in history.

After having passed the tax deal, unemployment benefits extensions, food safety, and 'Don't ask, don't tell', Government funding, the 9/11 responders health bill and New START, including former American Indians and African American farmers and land owners, who’s families got billions of dollars in taxpayer moneys for restitution's.

However, it may seem congress was very productive, but Americans weren’t FOOLED at all, and we certainly aren’t FOOLS. New Polls show Americans weren't too enthused, by lame duck final congressional session after all.

Polls also showing that ignoring the wills of majority of voters, the 70%, Seventy Percenters, will turn Washington into chaos, and bring more political dooms for politicians in both parties.

According to NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll and other major polling firms, show American attitudes towards direction of the country, and on President Obama are virtually unchanged, actually they fell downwards, a notch or two from what they were in September.

The most recent poll done, showed only 28% of voters believe the nation is on the right track, while 66% believe it’s in the wrong direction. President Obama’s approval ratings went down to 45% approvals, while 48% disapprove the job he’s doing.

On the NBC News/Wall Street Journal Poll; 12/9-13/10, 28% of respondents say Right Direction, while 63% are saying the nation is on the Wrong Track. On 11/11-15/10, 32% right direction, while 58% on the wrong track. On 10/28-30/10 RV 31% right direction, while 60% on the wrong track.

Gallup Poll; 12/10-12/10, 17% satisfied, while 81% dissatisfied. On 11/4-7/10, 19% satisfied, while 79% dissatisfied.

ABC/Washington Post; On 12/9-12/10, 31% right direction, while 67% wrong direction, and on 6/3-6/10, 37% right direction, while 60% are saying the nation is in the wrong direction.

McClatchy-Marist Poll; on 12/2-8/10, 34 right direction, while 58% on the wrong track. On 6/17-24/10, 37% in the right direction, while 56% on the wrong track.

And there's more; "Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid sent out a press release last week headlined "111th Congress Accomplishments." It quoted a couple of Democratic Party cheerleaders calling this the greatest Congress since 1965-66 (Norm Ornstein) or even the New Deal (David Leonhardt), and listed in capital letters no fewer than 30 legislative triumphs: Health Care Reform, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, a Jobs Package (HIRE Act), the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, Food Safety, the Travel Promotion Act, Student Loan Reform, Hate Crimes Prevention, and so much more.

What the release did not mention is the loss of 63 House and six Senate seats, and a mid-December Gallup poll approval rating of 13%. Never has a Congress done so much and been so despised for it.

While this may appear to be a contradiction, it is no accident or even much of a surprise. The liberal wing of the Democratic Party had been waiting since the 1960s for its next great political opening, as we warned in an October 17, 2008 editorial, "A Liberal Supermajority." Critics and some of our readers scored us at the time for exaggerating, but in retrospect we understated the willful nature of that majority.
Democrats achieved 60 Senate votes by an historical accident of prosecutorial abuse (Ted Stevens), a stolen election (Al Franken) and a betrayal (Arlen Specter). They then attempted to do nearly everything we expected, regardless of public opinion, and they only stopped because the clock ran out."

Obviously this tells me, since I wasn’t too enthused either by these bills being passed with this “lame duck” congress, and we’re all left asking why aren’t we happy about it?

It’s so simple, to the very obvious. If we take a one look at the seven bills, all but one or two, favor some sort of minority groups, instead of the majority.

The only bill I can see that helps most Americans is the “food safety” bill, and maybe the TAX bill, but all other bills passed by this “lame duck” congress favored few select groups of Americans and didn’t do anything for the 70%, Seventy-Percenters of voters.

And you’ve got to remember too folks; they also tried to pass another bill favoring minorities, the DREAM Act!

What the 70%, Seventy-Percenters want; secured borders, tougher legal and illegal immigrations controls, stop outsourcing jobs abroad, deal with China, reform public employees pensions and unions, stop these job killing Cap and Trades follies. These are all serious TAX and JOBS related issues folks!

I’ve heard some Republicans in congress talking about catering to those 70%, Seventy-Percenters, hopefully they will, otherwise it’s going to be a tough sell getting re-elected in 2012.

And for as long as Washington keeps ignoring our economic chaos, take one long look at this shocking chart. It came out in the San Francisco Chronicle; it will clearly show you we’re into the WORST recession ever, regarding JOBS for Americans.

And we’ve got the MOST idiotic U.S. president and Congress dealing with it.

The Economic Policies Institute uses federal data to show what percent of jobs were lost during each post-World War II recession and how many months it took before the job count surpassed its pre-recessionary level.

Averaging all the recessions, it took just under two years for the job count to dip and then grow past the prior peak. But three years into this downturn the job losses remain deeper than in the past and with no rebound in sight.

Of the 15 million Americans now counted as unemployed, close to half have been jobless for more than 27 weeks. The U.S. unemployment rate is 9.8 percent. In California it is 12.4 percent. Those averages mask the deeper pain felt by some depending on race, age, education and gender, as reflected in the accompanying federal data.”

"There are two major developments, she says, that are new this year and insufficiently noted, but they're going to shape election outcomes in 2010 and beyond. First, Washington is being revealed in a new way.

The American people now know, "with real sophistication," everything that happens in the capital. "I find a much more knowledgeable electorate, and it is a real-time response," Ms. Blackburn says. "We hear about it even as the vote is taking place."

Voters come to rallies carrying research—"things they pulled off the Internet, forwarded emails," copies of bills, roll-call votes. The Internet isn't just a tool for organization and fund-raising. It has given citizens access to information they never had before. "The more they know," Ms. Blackburn observes, "the less they like Washington."-Tennessee Representative Marsha Blackburn
