Saving his Base, Obama’s 180 on Gay Marriages & More New Polls Highly Favor GOP/Republican Battles over Public Sector Unions; Obama’s Job Approvals Sinking in Most States/Fewer Americans Describe Themselves as Democrats:

Saving his Base, Obama’s 180 on Gay Marriages & More New Polls Highly Favor GOP/Republican Battles over Public Sector Unions; Obama’s Job Approvals Sinking in Most States/Fewer Americans Describe Themselves as Democrats:
By Marc Chamot

It’s not very hard to understand why all the anti-unions onslaughts; Democrats and government employee unions have finally showed their TRUE colors to the American people, GREED.

It’s business logic 101, a no brainer. Everyone who has studied business knows employee costs take away most of the profits, and employee costs for most businesses are the number one cost next to production costs. Translating that towards government, who has no production assets, they mostly survive on taxpayer moneys, which can be astronomical strains on taxpayers.

Knowing all this; the beginning of “free loading” days are pretty much over for most government employee unions.

For years the public sector, government employees have used their influences to elect their OWN bosses in U.S. politics, and then turn around demanding costly lavish, “sweetheart” deals in healthcare and pension benefits for their just rewards.

As Examiner’s Matt Patterson says, “the unfunded obligations piled up, as pliant politicians, Democrats, PAID-OFF their union masters and KICKED the can (Obama) down the road, leaving a disastrous MESS for future taxpayers and governments to clean up. That time has finally arrived!”

Polls towards government unions and their employees are beginning to show,  48% Back GOP Governor in Wisconsin Spat, 38% Side With Unions “A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 48% of Likely U.S. Voters agree more with the Republican governor in his dispute with union workers. Thirty-eight percent (38%) agree more with the unionized public employees, while 14% are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)”

But the real truths of the matter, Examiner’s Timothy P. Carney says it right, the war against government unions are all about backroom deals to divvy up spoils of a CROOKED racket.

Public sector unions, aka, government employees are the most entrenched special interests in American politics today. The Wisconsin wars against public sector unions are more about public angers towards Democratic groups who are benefiting and profiting, through cronyism and their connections.

Obama approval falls in all states “President Barack Obama’s approval ratings during his second year in office was highest in the state where he grew up, and the city where he now spends most of his time, Gallup found in an analysis of its 2010 polling.

In Hawaii, Obama’s overall approval rating for the year was 65.9 percent in Gallup’s daily tracking polls, while in the District of Columbia it was even higher, averaging 84.4 percent for the year. Both the island state and the capital city are more liberal than most of the country, and both had the highest Obama approval ratings for 2009 as well.

Obama’s approval rating in Illinois, the state he served for four years in the U.S. Senate, was 53.4 percent, making it the state with the 10th-highest approval rating for the president’s 2010 performance. Obama’s approval rating was between 57.6 percent and 54.0 percent in Maryland, New York, Delaware, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, California and Connecticut.

While Obama did especially well in the Northeast, his approval ratings were lowest in the South and West. His lowest rating was in Wyoming, where it was 27.6 percent. Next was Idaho, at 31.6 percent. He had approval ratings higher than 33 percent and below 40 percent in West Virginia, Utah, Oklahoma, Alaska, Kentucky, Montana, Arkansas and Kansas.

Overall, Obama’s nationwide approval rating was 47 percent in 2010, down from 58 percent in 2009, and, throughout the country, the president’s approval ratings declined — even in states where he registered above-average marks.

The sharpest drop came in Vermont, where his approval dropped more than 15 percentage points to 52.6 percent in 2010. Between 2009 and 2010, Obama’s approval ratings fell more than 10 points in more than 30 states.”

Fewer Americans describe themselves as Democrats “A new Gallup Poll finds fewer Americans self-identify as Democrats today than did in 2008. That's potentially bad news for President Obama's 2012 re-election bid, as many of the declines occurred in states he carried in 2008.

According to Gallup, in 2010 every state and the District of Columbia had fewer residents describing themselves as Democrats or identifying as independent voters who leaned Democratic. Some of the biggest declines occurred in swing states that helped Obama claim the presidency in 2008, including Nevada, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, Colorado and Indiana.

According to Gallup, a total of 12 states--including Tennessee, Virginia and Missouri--that were "solidly" or leaned Democratic in 2008 have now shifted to "competitive." At the same time, no states have moved in a more Democratic direction in the last three years.

In New Hampshire, a state Obama carried in '08, the number of voters identifying as Democrats dipped more than 11 percent--a turnover second only to Rhode Island, where Democratic identification declined just over 12 points.

But as Gallup notes, voters aren't exactly rushing to the GOP either. Rather, there are simply more competitive states ahead of 2012. And the news isn't entirely bad for Obama's party. According to Gallup, Democratic states still outnumbered Republican states by 23 to 10 in 2010, and there were 14 solidly Democratic states compared with 5 solidly GOP states.”

So President Obama is losing the public relation’s battles on all fronts. With recent dismal job approval ratings, Obama is scrambling to keep his defragmented base intact by, “Obama: Paving the Way for Same Sex Marriage? "The Obama administration has now formally put the weight and authority of the Executive Branch behind the proposition that government discrimination against gays and lesbians is unconstitutional under the equal protection principles of the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments.

Since marriage between two people of the same sex, whether unrecognized by the federal government under DOMA or barred by the states under their own marriage laws, discriminates against gays and lesbians and cannot survive heightened scrutiny, it follows that the laws of 45 states barring gay marriage are unconstitutional.

While the DOJ won't formally be attacking state marriage laws in federal courts, its views do carry some persuasive heft."

This American president can’t seem to get back on track.

He’s still following Wall Street “Elite’s” and environmentalists’ ways towards job killings and LACK of job creations, and thereof, rather than using his executive powers and his party, to take matters in his OWN hands, to help make the necessary changes to get unemployed Americans back to work. Instead, he and his party totally wasted two years on many useless policies that benefited special interests than majority of Americans.

This  is a great opportunity for GOP/Republicans to capitalize on FAILED Democratic policies, and now with huge deficits, shrinking tax bases, all because of so many unemployed, and businesses who aren’t making their usual profit, so who are we going after? Bingo, costly taxpayer Public sector employees!

As I’ve said before, folks, President Obama and his Democrats missed the boat, big time, they had the POWER to get tougher on outsourcing jobs abroad, keeping U.S. industries in America, and getting tougher on failed policies of NAFTA and WTO’s, but they slept through the ordeals, because they didn’t give a HOOT.

But the ONUS will be on the GOP/Republicans soon, if they fail in U.S. jobs creations, they too will be getting the “Hoot Boot to shoot!”

Marc, good article and to the point, The president is failing due to his complete lack of wanting to create jobs, nothing else has mattered since the day he took office. One point I have made in the past on my own site is that it is not only up to the Government to create jobs but it is also on the shoulders of the people, When you as an American do not go out and buy an American product you hurt jobs here in the country it's that simple. Buying American products while sometimes more expensive will keep an American employed and off unemployment so is it really more expensive?

Thanks Marc

"There are two major developments, she says, that are new this year and insufficiently noted, but they're going to shape election outcomes in 2010 and beyond. First, Washington is being revealed in a new way.

The American people now know, "with real sophistication," everything that happens in the capital. "I find a much more knowledgeable electorate, and it is a real-time response," Ms. Blackburn says. "We hear about it even as the vote is taking place."

Voters come to rallies carrying research—"things they pulled off the Internet, forwarded emails," copies of bills, roll-call votes. The Internet isn't just a tool for organization and fund-raising. It has given citizens access to information they never had before. "The more they know," Ms. Blackburn observes, "the less they like Washington."-Tennessee Representative Marsha Blackburn
